Saab: Saab 900 se DTC not communicating, saab 900se, saab 900 se

Question
Jerry,
I own a 95 Saab 900se non-turbo. I have two issues with the car. (1) I have tried to pick up some fault codes with my scan tool OBD2 and it will not communicate with the car. I verified that it is not the tool. (2) My instrument cluster lights are inoperative. I have replaced the light rheostat and head light switch without any luck. I am very mechanically inclined however I thought that you would have a better idea of what may be at fault without me having to troubleshoot and spark chase a lot. Thanks for your time.

Answer
Louis:
Sorry, but as noted in my profile, my hands-on experience is limited to the older [pre-1993] 900's. For the very best source of info on your (or any) vehicle, the site <www.alldatadiy.com> costs $25/year/vehicle, but in my opinion is well worth it.
 Hope this helps,
