Question

Hello Thomas,
I own a 1989 saab 900 turbo.  The car won't idel when I go to stop.  It only happens sometimes.  The check engine light comes on and then will go off.
I have replaced the aic and the computer. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Answer
Jaime:
There are many possible reasons for your problem, the most likely one a vacuum leak somewhere. Since it happens only "sometimes", if you carefully define under which conditions it occurs, this may help find the problem location. Since the heater ducting controls are vacuum operated, its possible that one of the positions, controlling a vacuum diaphragm, could be at fault.

              I hope this helps,
