Toyota: 1995 Totota Camry DX Transmission, totota camry, toyota camry

I have a 1995 Toyota Camry. 161,000 miles. The transmission shifts into first and second automatically or manually but will not go into third(or drive.) I changed the fluid but by mistake put in type a instead of dexronII.

I changed the filter and fluid. When doing a test drive it worked fine. I parked it and took it down the road again and it began doing the same thing. When it is time to change from second to third it stalls like in neutral and I have to down shift to second to get going and the same thing happens when I get up to 40 mph.

Could you PLEASE help me.

Well, did you drain the Type A and replace it with Dexron II?  You may have damaged your clutches seeing as the viscosity may have been to different for your tranny to work properly.

You should have a tranny shop look at it though because all I can do here is guess:)
