Toyota: Problems with signal lights and hazard lights, dim all the lights, hazard lights

Question
I have an 1984 Toyota pickup and I have a problem with the signal lights and the hazards lights...

When I throw the switch for any of the three...none of them come on...

The car was in an accident about 5 months ago and it sat for that time and I finally got around to getting a new door and a quarterpanel for the cab. (It was impacted on the driver's side) I took the bed off and there was some wiring but they were all plugs and such. And there was a 'relay' for a 4 prong trailer lights hookup as well...and I did see some sort of ground wire there as well leading to somewhere behind the driver's side of the tailights and it didn't look like that was important. But anyways if that does have something to do with the signal system then that might explain it...

But what gets me is that NONE of the hazards/signals work...yet the brakes and the reverse lights work like a charm. And the headlights work fine as well.

And as with any signal/hazard lights, they would make that clicking noise in the cab by the other instruments to represent it being on...but nothing is showing there...as if the relay or something isn't working there...

There is also a distinct possibility that it's also electrical related (well duh...lol) but in the regards to the battery...I've dealt with cars (particulary with 1975 and older) when they have a weak or dying battery...the signals don't respond too well...as they would 'go' slow or not at all...but they would be ghosting on...but anyhoo any help would be much appreciated...and if there is a wiring diagram that is out there as well...or if you know anything of that ground wire as well...

Answer
Well, I'd have to say that its probably a relay giving you this trouble.  A dying battery would dim all the lights, not chosing specific ones.  (I learned that lesson! LOL)

Meanwhile, I did try to see if I could find you a wiring diagram to help out but I only have Camry manuals and couldn't find anything from my online sources.

But, you can try asking the members at my favorite Toyota forum, ToyotaNation.

Here's the link:

Other than that, signing up for AllData.com will get you a wiring diagram but for a price (subscription).  Check out the website as I don't have all the details about how they work.
