Toyota: 2001 MR2 Check Engine light, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
Ciao Giacomo... The "Check Engine" light on my Spyder recently turned on. The car has about 58,200 miles on it. The problem doesn't appear to be the oil or coolant. What else should I check? Could it be the brakes or a clogged filter? (No, it is not the gas cap!) Grazie... Peter Casella

Answer
Hello!

if the check engine light doesn't blink, it's a problem involved with carburation. Check:
- Lambda sond
- Catalysator
- fuel filter
- mass air flow sensor (placed on the intake hose)

Otherwise go to a toyota dealer, they have a tester whick can tell you the error code your ECU reads, and discover where the problem is.

Hope this helps!
Regards,
Jack
