Toyota: Door Latch - 1992 Camry, door latch, ebay

Question
1992 4 door Camry DL.  Drivers door.  No power locks.  Crank windows. From the outside, the latch will no longer open the door.  Pull the handle and it is just limp, no tension at all.  Took the inside door panel off but could not tell a thing.  Used a light to observe door latch from the inside - basically could not see anything broken or missing.  No parts inside the door that I could find.  What do I need to repair this handle?  Am I missing something - must be.  Inside latch works to open the door from the inside.  Outside key mechanism still works to lock and unlock the door.  If I need to order a part, do you know the name I need to order?
Thanks.  Randall

Answer
Well, I would say that you probably need to check the handle because it sounds like the metal rod that connects to it may have broken off. It's held on by a dinky little yellow plastic thing.  It's strong and lasts a good long while but repeated use of something like the DRIVER's door handle wears on that little plastic clip thing.  So, my suggestion is to check on the handle.  To do so, you need to pull of the driver inside door panel.  If you need the manual to do just that, let me know.

Buying a new handle isn't bad.  The EBay handles go for 35 bucks roughly but you can get a black no-color handle for less.  Probably 25 bucks.  Installing it is fairly annoying because I ended up breaking a piece of my new handle:(  I was angry but I learned to live with it.. FOR NOW:)  Hope this helps!
