Toyota: STARTER?, crank shaft, salvage title

Question
Hi Paul -- Thanks for being available for mechanical advice.  I have am the original owner of a '90 Corolla, 180K miles (130K on the motor; replaced when crank shaft cracked), in fairly good condition overall, except for a few problems, particularly with starting.  The starter was replaced about a year ago, but for several months afterward, I continued to experience sporadic problems with the car starting, but then over the winter, there was no problem at all.  Two days ago, I began having problems again.  It seems to happen only in warm weather (I live in the mid-south).  It doesn't do it every time, but mostly after the car has been driven for a while.  Occasionally, it will not start even when the engine is cold.  When I turn the ignition, it makes one clicking sound, but the motor won't turn over.  The odd thing is, it will eventually kick over if I wait to try again about 30 minutes after the first few attempts to start it. The mechanics who replaced the starter have not been cooperative about considering the possibility that it might be a defective starter.  I'm now also wondering if it isn't a starter problem at all, especially since I had no trouble during the winter months.  I'm also losing power on acceleration on inclines and on take-off, as well as sometimes having rough idling and occasional hesitations (missing?) when maintaining a steady speed.  I took my car for a service check last week to have the spark plugs, distributor cap, and fuel filter checked - all were reported fine, and they could find no obvious reason for the power and hesitation/missing problems.  I know I need to replace my car, but am unable to do so for another few months. In case it makes any difference, the car was totalled 18 months ago from a front-end collision, but I had it repaired and have a salvage title.  There was little mechanical damage, but the radiator was damaged -- I believe that was the only significant mechanical damage, although they had to also upgrade the a/c, and the trip meter hasn't worked ever since the wreck.  I would appreciate any insight you may have, especially about the starting problem.  Many thanks!

Answer
was the starter a toyota starter?
as for the power loss ( did you go to a toyota dealer)
the toyota like ngk plugs only. they tend to do weird things with other plugs. i would flush the injectors also, and clean the throttle body of carbon and change the air filter too. let me know.
