Toyota: 1992 corolla starting problems, click sound, fuel pump

hi. I have a problem starting my 92 corolla but once I get it started it idles fine but when I shift it in gear it stalls out. Could it be the fuel pump?

it happens when you put in the gear, or when you release the clutch?
Anyway this is strange.. yes it could be the fuel pump, but the alternator too, maybe your car is running only on battery.
When you start it, it does something like a "click click" sound or it's more like it's starting but it takes time to start?
