Toyota: 85 supra, rear differential, rear end

well, i bought the supra....its a 85 supra with a 2.8dohc in it. the rear end groans real bad...i was told this was common in these cars....can ya tell me what you think?  the engine was rebuilt and the guy didnt tighten down ne thing..lol. so thats a job...and..the dash says the temp is goin abouve normal...way above...can ya help me there too?

it's difficult to say without seeing the car, but the noise could be the transmission and the rear differential, they are worn out...
The problem with the temp could be caused by many ways, check all the fuses, that the fan works, check the radiator liquid, and the thermostat.
