Toyota: Corolla Stalls Out, alternator pulley, toyota corolla

Question
I did check the alternator and battery and i turned out to be the alternator,  but now the car runs but from time to time the instrument gauges dims from bright to low and back from low to high when i step on the accelator from time to time, and the car shut off on me today while idling in park waiting for someone.  I am unsure of what this could be do you have any ideas.

I have a 1993 Toyota Corolla It runs very good, but recently I noticed the instument gauges dimming while I am idle at a light and then Brighten back up while in drive.  The car shut off on me while idling in a parkingspot.  I let it stand and it started back up after 10 minutes.  I drove it again aand noticed the instument cluster doing the same thing.  When I did a 90 degree turn into a parking spot the car sputters and then shut off on me.  I am unsure of what is wrong and your help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Hello,

check the battery and if it's ok, check the alternator.

Answer
Hello!

Happy you found the problem!
Now... this sound strange.. are you sure the new alternator is the right one? is the car stock or there is any extra electrical part? like a special audio system..
otherwise maybe the timing belt slips on the alternator pulley, if you have a fixed belt tensioner, you must have it adjusted, or check if the alternator has been mounted correctly.

Hope this helps!

Jack
