Toyota: od trans., bottom curve, good speed

Question
I recently purchased a 2003 Corolla with auto trns. I go over a mtn. every nite to work. I go up out of overdrive. I like to coast down the other side up to 70 mph. Near the bottom curve when I need to brake slightly the trans automatically shifts down and the revs go up. Should I go down in or out of overdrive for optimal transmission care? Could I possibly coast down in neutral and put it back in drive at the bottom? Thanx and have a nice day!

Answer
ALL HIGHWAY DRIVING SHOULD BE DONE IN OVERDRIVE... UNLESS PULLING A HEAVY LOAD. JUST MAINTAIN A GOOD SPEED. AND never never never COAST DOWN IN NEUTRAL.. FOR SAFETY REASONS AND THE TRANNY WOULD NOT LIKE THE SHOCK... IT'S JUST SOMETHING U DO NOT DO. PAUL P.
