Volkswagen: horn problem-VW sharan n-reg, carsurvey org, drain tubes


Question
The other night we had loads of rain and i have a large pool of water in the footwell, the horn is now on constantly, if i remove the battery it stops but as soon as reconnect the horn stays on
the car starts ok but the central locking keeps clicking on and of on its own
I am trying to dry out under dash, what else can I do

Tim,
 I do not have direct experience with this model, but my research indicates there are some drain tubes "under the windscreen" which get blocked by debris.  Also there is talk of the "pollen air filter" also having a similar drain tube blockage.  I have heard of many other modern VWs having similar problems, seems to be a common engineering oversight.  Here are a few links that may help:
