Volkswagen: a/c vw passat 98, passat v6, vw passat

G'Day, my 98 passat V6 a/c is leaking green stuff and doesn't work. is it a big job to fix? or does it just need new seals?

 If it is leaking from the compressor, I think it's better to just get a new one and use your bad one as a return core for some credit.  If you are up for it and have the tools, all this is definitely DIY.  You just need to get a recharge kit ($30-50 US) plus freon, in addition to the compressor ($300-$500 US).
