Volkswagen: My clutch is slipping, clutch, slipping

Hi, i just bought a 1987 Cabrio and the clutch is slipping at 4 to 5,000 rpm. Is there any adjustments that i can make to correct this?? The clutch ingadges almost at the Top of the peddle. I dont know much about VWs!!!

Although there is some adjustment capability, unfortunately your symptoms indicate you need a new clutch disc.  Not unusual for a vehicle of this age.  If the car is in good shape otherwise, it's worth the cost to take it to a shop and get it done right.  I had one and loved it until the day I gave it to my niece.  Wish I still had it.
