Volkswagen: 1973 VW Bus horn, horn button, steering column

My horn comes on all by it's self.

I disconnected the horn button, but it still goes on by it's self occasionally.  Normally when i turn to the left, but recently it started coming on even when the wheel is straight.

Please help.

Hi,

There is a small wire that comes out under the steering column to the bottom of the bus. (in the front).  Sometimes this wire breaks free and dangles.  If it was to hit a ground (or the chassis) it will set the horn off.

Make sure that the wire is plugged into it's slot on the bottom of the steering column.

This should fix your problem,
