Volkswagen: VW Passat (2002) Radio Suddenly Stops Working, little fuse, passat 2002

Hey Ron,

Today when I got in my car after stopping for some fast food, my radio simply would not turn on. I drive a VW Passat, year 2002, 1.8t. I pushed the on/off button multiple times and also turned my car off and then back on, but the radio simply would not show any sign of life.

Any idea on how to fix this? It was working fine no longer than 30 minutes prior to that, but then suddenly just decided not to turn on anymore.

Hi Neeshee,

There is a fuse behind the radio itself.  It may be necessary to pull the radio and replace that little fuse.

Prior to doing so however, check these two things:

a) That the main radio fuse in your fuse box did not blow

b) Ensure you have your radio code to type in once you get it working again.
