Volkswagen: 1968 radio install, proper fuse, radio vw

Question
I am attempting to replace an aftermarket cd player in my 1968 sedan. Problem is, the head unit in there isn't connected to anything as it is (this is how I recieved the vehicle) and therefore I have NO idea where or how to put my wires from the head unit's harness. The wiring diagrams in my Chilton's make no mention whatsoever of a radio or its possible connecting points and there are definitely no wires just hanging out doing nothing behind the dash. Help?

Answer
Kevin,

#9 in the fuse box is reserved for a radio.   Remove the battery, unscrew the fuse box, and simply plug in the hot wire for the radio.  Make sure you use the proper fuse that the radio/VW calls for in the book.

Any clean metal surface on the car body should serve as a suitable ground.

Let me know how you make out.
