Towing Issues: Car Towing, arressted, tow operators

Question
I had my car towed at apt. complex for registration expiration almost immediately after it expired. The tow company towed it off the property and approx. 5 blks. away and took it off of their truck and left it unattended and of course unlocked and went to get another vehicle(staging)which I have been told is not legal in NV.. I called the police myself because when the tow operators got back I was sitting in this vehicle and told them that I was taking repossession of my vehicle and that I would have it towed myself to a safe location. They said they had possession and so I called the police. The operator called his boss and the boss was prompting this kid to lie to the police and he did. The officer double questioned him and admitted to me that he admitted to lieing to him. I told the officer that I would take my car over to my nephews and put it in his garage until it could be towed to the mechanic to fix the problem for registration. The police even though they lied and the officer acknowledged that he had lied still allowed them to tow my car because he did not like my attitude as I was telling him that I had the right to intercept my vehicle. The officer ask me if I was prepared to pay the full amount of the original tow. I told him that I would only pay what the sate required me to pay which is 1/2 of the original tow and that the tow company chose to change the destination of the original tow, so I would be more than happy to pay 1/2 of the fee for the towing of 5 blocks. I was threatened to be arressted for being combative and on drugs which neither was true and I ask for a test which never happened. He allowed them to take my car and when I went to get it the expired registration was not in the vehicle and they said it never was. However, I know it was in the vehicle and so was the front license plate because it would not stay on the front of the car. I had it in the side pocket on the passenger side. It would not have even made sense to remove an expired registration and not a license plate as the plate would have been the usable item. What and how can I go about doing something to this company and the police dept. that denied me this state law?? Also, when I went to court the judge ruled everything I said as irrelevant so that I would not have legal recourse to sue the police dept., nor the officer, nor the company. There is also a state law in place against staging vehicles as a practice in towing. I have gone to the state level and made complaints and still nothing is being done. I went to get copies of the incidents and the reports for my calls to the police and reports that I was wishing to report were not taken so do nopt exist. What can I do as I was within my rights?

Answer
I really have no answers for you, as it seems that you have tried everything I would suggest... But one the tow company dropped it (staged it) and left then it became a "civil matter"

It sounds as if the tow company was breaking the law and as such they managed to convince the police officer they were right...

After all this, I would say that the only  option would be court and that might get expensive... Its up to you to decide how much $$ you want to spend on trying to win this...
