Volkswagen: Fuel filter in 79 VW Bus, vw beetle, laymans terms

Please forgive me for asking this stupid question. I own a 62 VW Beetle and a 74 Ghia. The fuel filter is easy to change in the both of them. But I have no clue where is the fuel filter located on the 79 Bus? Or how to replace it. I went under, inside and still cannot find this  thing. Please explain how and where in laymans terms so I may replace it. Thank You so much.

Hi Glenn,

If your bus is fuel-injected,  the filter is located underneath the car by the driver-side rear-wheel.

The fuel filter is a large white box looking thing, next to a little electric motor (the fuel pump).

Make sure that you buy the correct one, as fuel injected vehicles have high-pressure in the fuel lines.
