Volkswagen: 74 vw horn, horn button, steering wheel

I am working on a 74 super beetle for my teenage daughter,and my latest problem is that the horn is stuck on when connected. I checked the contacts on the steering wheel and all seems fine there. What to do???????????

Hi Roger,

The wire that connects to the horn button on the steering wheel goes through the center of the steering column, and than connects to the bottom of the car.  If that wire has fallen off or is frayed (usually happens at the top where it enters the steering column, or the very bottom where it comes out)... it will keep the horn activated.

So, double check that the wire is not touching any type of ground anywhere.

This will solve your problem.
