Volkswagen: jetta ac heater core, ac system, heater core

hi ron, i have a 1992 jetta with an a/c. i need to know how to replace the heater core without taking it to a repair shop. i understand that its a big mess when i have an a/c. if i do not want my a/c what can i do to do this job on my own. i do know i have to remove the centre under dash console but no advice on what to do if i have the ac. is it simple to do it keeping my ac system intact.

Hi again Conrad,

I believe it is not that difficult.  However, I would suggest getting a book covering your year car from an auto parts store.

It will show picture by picture on how to do it w/  A/C.  If you run into any snags, feel free to drop me a line.

It's just difficult to explain, especially when I don't have any pictures.
