Volkswagen: Rebuild Manual, valve stem oil seals, vw passat

Morning John,

I just purchased a 91 VW Passat and want to rebuild the engine due to blue smoke coming out the exhaust. Do you know where I can get my hands on an engine rebuild manual. I am looking for a manual like the Haynes style manuals for rebuilding.

i am not sure, as we use computer based manuals at work. i wolud suspect it to be the valve stem oil seals at fault as they become hard and brittle with age. this does not mean a full engine rebuild, just the cylinder head. i could probably find the details you need, ie, tightening torque's etc.
