Volkswagen: car radio, golf gl, vw specialist

I have an R reg golf GL and have the original volkswagon cassette radio.

I have an aerial or radio reception problem and want to test another radio with the aerial.

How do I take the current radio out to get at the connections.

you will require a set of radio keys for earlier volkswagons. they slide in beside the search buttons and the buttons on other side. (sorry can't remember what they are at moment). once the keys are inserted the radio should just pull out using the keys. (the radio keys should be available at any reputable car audio centre, or if needed they can be purchased from any volkswagon dealer. ((most vw specialist should have them and maybe even a few spare ones))
