I had the battery replaced in my Passat now it is in "safe mode" please help me!

how do you mean safe mode? does the radio say safe? or is there general problems with the car?
No problems with the car the radio reads "SAFE MODE" that's it. VW dealer said there is a code I just do not know what the code is and they want to charge me $50 to come in and punch in the Code. I think that is ridiculous so can you help me. Any info will be appreciated. Thank You. Kristal

if the radio is in safe mode, turn on the ignition, then turn on the radio. wait a few moments, turn off ignition and remove key. wait a few moments again then turn on ignition again and wait a few minutes. if the radio does not go to "learn" then your only option's are to go the agents who will obtain the code and tell you the code for future reference. or replace the radio with a new one (sony, etc). sadly the codes are stored by volkswagon and they will only release the code to the main agents. sorry i can't be of more assistance.
