Volkswagen: I have a VW Golf 1996. Engine is a 2.o, fuse box, trunk light

I am having some problems startign the car some times, and
wehn I do my open warning trunk light turns on as well as my
chech engine light. When I turn my turn signal the trunk light
blinks with the turn signal. My Radio turn on when the key is off
the switch and I can take my key out and the car will stay on. I
am not sure what is going on, can you help me.

a 1996 golf will be a mk3, it sounds like you may have a fuse box problem. i have come across various different effects of this problem. (ie, starter motor engages when the lights are put on). the faults do not follow any set pattern from car to car. however the numerous faults you mention would imply an electrical problem and the only place that all the circuits converge is the fuse box / relay plate. i would advise getting a second hand fuse box and see if that rectifies the problems. good luck.
