Volkswagen: CHanging my VW Beetle Headlights, head screws, philips head

Question
How do I change my VW Headlights????  Do I take then out from the front of the car?????

Answer
Hi Tracy -

Before doing this, make sure you check all of your fuses and that they are nice and shiny.  If they need to be cleaned, or they are oxidized -- the lights are first to flicker out.

If you look at the front of your Beetle, there is a little screw on the bottom of the round, silver ring.   Unscrew it, take off the chrome cover ring.  (It simply lifts up from the bottom)

Now, you will see tiny philips head screws where the light mount holds the bulb to the fender of the car on three little tabs.   Carefully remove them, however, make sure you are removing the ones that are holding the frame to the body.  Those screws adjust the headlight direction, and you don't want to touch them.

Once that's done, you can easily see how the headlight fastens in.  Zammo - you are done!
