Volvo: s80 wont start, volvo s80, scan tool

Question
My 200 volvo S80 started fine this morning, now all the lights inside on the dash come on and there is a small alarm that goes off when I turn the key. All the lights come on, but nothing happens?

Read the fault codes see what they are. If you do not have a scan tool tow it to a Volvo shop. If you have another key try that first, the chip in the key maybe at fault. Most times if the alarm system fails however the antenna ring is at fault. Lock/Unlock the car with the key from outside to deactivate the alarm, then try the key to start it.
