Volvo: S80 Throttle problem, throttle position sensor, throttle plate

Question
Hi. We have a 2001 S80 %26 the management light came on recently %26 the car dropped into safe mode. We were told that the O2 sensor was faulty so it was replaced. However, we got the car back and a couple of days later the management light came on again but this time the car seemed to rev higher. We've now been told it could be the throttle body but I wanted to know if there was also a throttle position sensor on the S80 and if there is how do I find out which one I need to replace as I can't drive the car anywhere because it's still in safe mode.... can you help? Thanks.

Answer
Fiona,
The throttle housing and the throttle position sensor are basically one unit. It is a throttle plate that works electronically with signals going back and forth. So replacing the housing and updating the software is the best bet. There have been many problems with that unit.
