Volvo: 1993 Volvo 850 GLT A/C question, volvo 850 glt, volvo 850

Question
Hello Ray,
I have just received a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT from my cousin for my first car. She told me that there's something wrong with the A/C system; it is not working, and her mechanic believes it could be an electrical problem or something wrong with the fan. Can you identify what could be wrong with it, and possibly provide an estimate for repairs? I don't want to spend more money than the car is worth.

Thanks!

Answer
Yvonne,
If there is not any power getting from the dash to the low pressure switch, you possibly have problem with the control head for the climate system. You maybe able to find that part used and save some money. That may run about $100.00. If the blower motor is at fault a new one is $210.00 or used for $80.00. That is parts only. I don't know what you tech will charge to work on the car.
