Volvo: keyless remote, fcc code, keyless remotes

I have a question about keyless remotes.  I have purchased a 99 S70 from an individual who lost his remote.  He stated that I could purchase a used one and have the dealer reprogram it.  However, when I look at Ebay etc - all ads state that I need to match the FCC ID code to make sure the remote will work.   What is the FCC code?   How do I find out what my car's is?   The dealer wants $200 for a new remote so I would much prefer to go with a used one, but it won't help me much if it doesn't work!

You can try to pull out the glove box and look for the reciever. Most are up against the right side panel when the glove box is out.
You will still need to see the dealer to program the remote, there is a PIN they will nned. Some shops may have the scan tool to do some programming.
