Volvo: Codes, volvo v70 t5, ipd volvo

Question
QUESTION: Help please i have a 2001 Volvo V70 T5 when i hooked it up when it's running it reads ''POSITION SENSOR IS LOW'' '' BANK 1'' I'm unsure of these codes, i used a scanner from a buddy of mine.

ANSWER: Raymond,
Never seen a code like that. The best is the Volvo scan tool as that will give a better and more specific code so you know what to look for. The generic codes are not as specific. Seek help from a shop that works on the Volvos or the dealer.

QUESTION: Oh okay, but i have one last question do you recommend buying a scanner off ipd Volvo?          http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-V70XC70-2001-2007/Engine-Management/Scan-Gauge-II/p-

Answer
Raymond,
The cost of the scanner (at least a good one) to read codes and monitor the different systems is pretty step.
I can tell you that I am not familiar with the IPD scanner. It did say it will read codes, but failed to say if they are manufacture codes or generic. At the $170 that is not bad. All Volvo techs feel that the factory codes are the best, so we are spoiled, yes true!
