Volvo: Brakes and funny noise, volvo cars, volvo 850

Question
I'm just drive cars, so by any means I'm not an expert on "car words" or such. Here it goes...I have a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo. I have had this car for about 2 or so years. My grandfather passed away and this car sat in the yard before I started driving it again.(It was in the yard for about a year) Since then, when I apply the brakes, they make noise. And also when I go up a hill or drive on a "not leveled road", the car will make a noise like a "vibrating sound" or I guess I can say it sounds like a hollow sound. I have a regular mechanic and he has changed the brakes, the rotors, pads, etc. He is a professional and he is stumped. It was something else he changed on the car but I forgot what is was. Any suggestions on what it might be? Could it be a defect on this car that I didn't receive a notice on? Thanks in advance for your help

Answer
Katrina,
There might be a defective rotor he used on your car. I have seen the rear anti rattle spring rub against the rotor. The vibrating sound could also be in the brakes or possible one of the axle shafts or front hubs.
You need a mechanic that know the Volvo cars. Find a shop that works on them. Since they work on a lot of them they know better what to look for.
