Motorcycle Repair: fuel, diesel fuel, shively

if i put diesel into my motorbike what damage would it do? Because i apparently did it and the garage drained the fuel and said it was diesel i don't think it was and it cost £47.00 to repair does that sound correct?

Hi Timmy,

Diesel fuel would not meter through the carburetors well and would cause the engine to run poorly, if at all.

It would likely foul the spark plugs, too.

47 pounds is not a bad rate for the labor involved to flush the fuel system.
