One of the front wipers on my 95 960 stopped working.  The wire/cable on plastic cam at the base of the post has slipped off.  It looks simple to pass around the cam again and tighten but the cable seems to be too short.  Is there a  trick for reinstalling the cable?  And what engineer thought up this goofy system?

One end of the cable is adjustable, loosen that until the cable can be positioned. I have never heard of a cable that has shrunk, so proper position is the key. It is not the easiest type of wiper system to work with. I believe there are a lot of people that are looking the guy who came up with that design.
