Lexus Repair: 2002 GS300, lexus dealership, toyota service

Question
My engine malfunction light is on.  It goes off for a little while if I disconnect the battery, then comes back on again.  I have just moved and haven't found a repair shop yet and wonder if this is a big worry.

Hello Jerry,
 I would take your vehicle to a Lexus Independent Repair shop or Lexus dealership to have the code pull. Resetting your ECU won't fix the problem.  BTW, Have you check your gas cap? Thank you.
