My boss asked me to review the XC90 and give him my opinion.
I saw in the above site discussion that you said lots of transmission problems.  

He currently has a S80, and his wife loves it, but does not want to attempt to keep it too long as we know they have glass transmissions.  

So my request to you is what other problems does the XC90 have, and were the transmission problems worked out in a later year?  What Volvo model would you recommend?  What model is your favorite?

Yes the trans has had it's problems. And they are trying to correct and make needed changes to the later trans. I do like the XC's and would buy one with the available extended warranty coverage. That way you are cover in the event of a failure.
