Volvo: volvo V70 2.4 T year 2000, volvo v70, stc system

Question
Dear Ray

I live in Switzerland and I face the following problem with my V70:
I have 3 lights switched on on my instrument panel
1 is related to the ABS default and the other to the STC system, on the other hand I cannot switch off the stc with the button on board
diagnostic said problem with the wheel sensor left and technician cannot access to the ECM module managing ABS/STC;
my question is: do you think it could be another default?
the second problem is the light indicating a problem with the brakes despite the fact that the discs and brakes pad are in good state. Do you think it could be the pedal position sensor? or its O ring? or is it linked to the ABS STC problem too.

Thank you very much for your help and expertise

best regards

MArc

Answer
Marc,
Tough to say what the brake light means. What fault codes are present?
If the system for the STC and ABS cannot be accessed that would indicate a possible power/ground problem or defective control unit. There might be a down loadable fix that will allow communication. I think that you need the help of the dealers computer fault tracing system. Start with the known fault codes and after those are repaired see if they might indirectly fix the other faults.
