Auto body repair & detailing: Sheet metal cutting, gauge sheet metal, electric shears

Hi,
Wondering what would be the best way to cut light gauge sheet metal. I have a metal shear which will cut it but it leaves the edges rough and wavy.  Is there a tool that will leave a cleaner edge.  I am cutting mostly straight lines.  I am fabricating an underhood airbox designed to allow more cool air to flow to the air filter.

They sell electric shears or air powered they both cut very smooth and straight lines. Otherwise just cut the metal close to the way you want it and hammer it flat then use a grinder to fine trim it.
