Volvo: rear-facing seat installation for 1998 V70 XC, seat installation, spare tire

Hi Ray,
I'm considering installing a rear-facing seat in my 1998 V70 XC wagon.  My
questions: 1. are there instructions online somewhere, so I can see if this is
something I can do myself?  2. what happens to the spare tire-- do I replace
it with a small "donut" tire?  3.  would I really want to do this myself or does
this require special tools, especially complex instructions, or whatever.

I do not know of any instructions on line. It is not too bad of an installation. Common sense and some average skills are all it takes. As far as the spare tire it has to stay. I thing the kit comes with a new cover for the spare. You do loose some storage space. If you get a seat from the dealer it comes with instructions.
