Volvo: volvo v70 cutting out, volvo v70, electrical portion

My 2002 volvo v70 cuts out with no warning it dosn't do it all the time but when it does everthing fails the lights come up i then put into park and then it restarts. any ideas.

See if there are any fault codes in the system to help find the problem. Is the ignition switch working properly? The electrical portion of the switch could also fail. That would not show a fault code. If the fault is in the fuel or ignition system then a fault code should be present. You might also check with the dealer to see if there is an information download that is for a fault like yours.
