Volvo: Code po 236, intermittent faults, v70 cross country

Question
My 01 v70 cross country has check engine code 236. Your thoughts on this boost sensor code?

Answer
John,
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-170F is stored if the boost pressure sensor's registered pressure deviates from the atmospheric pressure sensor's registered pressure. This comparison is made at engine start (at approximately 500 rpm ) before the turbocharger (TC) has built up a boost pressure.

Substitute Value

Possible Source

Faulty Signal
contact resistance in terminals
defective boost pressure sensor
defective atmospheric pressure sensor

Fault Symptom[s]

Check boost pressure sensor connector for intermittent contact resistance, oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults .
