Volvo: 2000 Volvo S80 issues?, volvo s80, 2000 volvo s80

Hi Ray,

I am looking at a 2000 Volvo S80, and am wondering if you know if this year
and model is known for a lot of problems or need for repairs? I am looking
for safety (obviously...VOLVO) and also reliability and don't want to get
something I'm going to have to put a lot of money into on repairs every year.

When you find a car have it inspected by a shop that knows the Volvos. Have them look over the car for things it needs and also see what things have been done. As far a repair costs I recommend you purchase a warranty, make sure the coveage is good. Make sure it covers leaks from seals and gaskets. The S80 has not been out that long to get a good idea of how well it will last. I heard of idle problems, fuel pump leakage, front end bushings, ball joints. However all car parts wear out with mileage. Try doing a search for Volvo S80 and see what things you find out.
