Volvo: 2001 v70, v70 xc, volvo wagon

My expectant wife and I are looking to buy a volvo wagon. We found a 2001 V70 we really like, in excellent shape,  but it has 96,000 miles, which makes me uneasy. Dealer has it listed for 11,900. We also found in 03 v70 xc awd 68,000 miles for 16,800, seems fair, but i've heard concerns about the AWD. Any thoughts on buying either of these cars? thanks

The price is a bit high, but maybe your area is one that has higher car prices. Yes there have been AWD problems. I would look into a good warranty policy. Either car I would ask for a list of good and bad things that has been done or needs to be done. Like is the timing belt due? Or a large inspection? Brakes in good shape?
