Volvo: My 1996 Volvo 850 GLT, volvo 850 glt, silicone grease

Question
QUESTION: Ok, I just got this car like 5 days ago and it never did it until almost 2 days after I got it. I replaced the rear brake pads the day I got it. Then when I drive about 30 mph then put my foot on the brake a little, a little bit after I have slowly been stoping at the end it starts to really shake and rattle and vibrate like crazy so i let off the brake peddle and now have to sort of pump the brakes to keep them from doing that. I think it might be the abs mod or speed sensor. I am a 17 yr girl who needs to fix this problem because i dont like how it feels and sounds. By the way i replaced both rotors in the back because i thought it my be a bent or bad rotor, but apparently not. Thank you so much : )

ANSWER: Amanda,
Most times that noise is from a brake pad that is made of very hard brake pad material. Best thing is get Volvo pads and use product called BG Anti Squeal for brakes. You apply this to the brake pad material. Then get the silicone grease that is used on the back side of the brake pads. The Anti Squeak soaks into the brake pad material and helps to stop the noise. The grease on the back of the pad absorbs the vibration that makes the squealing. There is a special brake pad shim that can also be installed. That too can be bought at the dealer. Always use Volvo brake pads and rotors, they work the best.

QUESTION: Yes, that makes sence but it vibrated even when i had volvo pads and rotors that is why i got new ones, but i will try that, thanks so much.

Answer
Amanda,
It was a vibration you felt in the car. The vibration I was talking about is very minor and is what makes the squealing noise. Vibration is the squealing.
When I have this problem I install Volvo pads, rotors, springs, and shims. Make sure as the rotor turns it does not touch on the anti rattle spring.
