Volvo: 2000 volvo s70 glt, volvo s70 glt, 2000 volvo s70

Question
Ray, I own a Volvo S glt with 76000 miles on it.  When the car is idling I can hear a squeaking noise.  The noise appears to be coming from the turbo area.  I can place my hand on what appears to be the vacuum actuator on top of the turbo and it seems like the noise may be coming from it.  Is it possible for the vacuum actuator to squeak?  Should I replace it and see if this solves the problem?
Thanks,
Chad

Answer
Chad,
There is not any vacuum or pressure at the actuator during idle. That is assuming that all the vacuum and pressure lines are hooked up correctly. If you can not fine the noise take it to a Volvo shop and have them look at it. I have seem the timing belt idler pulley and the drive belt idler cause a squeaking noise. Test it ASAP so you do not end up with bigger problems.
