Volvo: 2002 S60 VOLVO 2.5T, shift lock, jiggles

Question
The key has intermittently stuck over the life of this car, but with a few jiggles would turn over every time.  Until last week.  The key will not turn at all, and the car will not go into gear to be towed.  I can slightly force the key and the electrical will work, but that's it.  The front tires are slightly turned to the right, yet the steering wheel is slightly left of center.  Have tried it all from shaking the parking brake, turning the steering wheel (when you do this there is a slight popping noise), and jacking up both front tires to relieve pressure.  Nothing.  Please advise.

Answer
Tom,
Sounds like the ignition tumbler has jambed. Call your local dealer and ask about towing, they will advise you. My guess is they will disconnect linkage at the trans or push the shift lock release button after jiggling the key and push the car out and tow it.
