Volvo: Odometer inop, top screws, crash pad

Question
Hi Ray, I have a 95 850 GLT sedan, non turbo. I reset the trip meter and now the Odometer does not work. The speedo works fine but the Odo is inop. Have you ever taken the speedo apart to fix this or should I just go for a new one. Are there any hidden screws for the bezel around the cluster? Thanks in advance for your help!!    Norm

Answer
Norm,
There is a gear inside the speedo that is broken. They are not terribly hard to fix. Find a speedo shop in your area, they may have that gear and also maybe able to repair it for you.
The crash pad needs to come off then you lift the cluster out from the top. Screws are inside the dash vents. Pop the vents out at the sides. There are also screws/bolts that hold on the air bag over the glove box.
