Volvo: Volvo S40 (1999), volvo s40, scan tool

Hi Ray.  My mother-in-law bought above car.  It has the 2lietre non-turbo enjin in.  The local dealer says that the car's door can not be automatically locked either when you turn the ignition or when you reach a certain speed.  Do you know differantly?  If so, are there a combination of buttons and/or ignition key actions that I can perform to "program" the desired result?

Reprogramming can only be done with the Volvo scan tool. Find a shop that has one or go to the dealer. If your car does not have remote locks you can always have them installed. It is refreshing to hear from someone who likes the XC's. Many problems exist with those cars.
