Volvo: clutch and a miss, chocking, master cylinder

Question
Hi
My car is a 1989 740gl.I live in Nairobi.I am having a clutch padel that cant work,as in I woke up and the padel just goes in free. Then I have experienced a chocking shaking effect while driving at low speeds.I got a mechanic to see the clutch and he says it could be the leakage of the sleeve cylinder, now that I told him that there was no burning smell from the clutch.I just need some insight here before getting someone to open and check it,I just want to be on the informed side, and to know what to expect or replace.Thank you.

Answer
Victory,
If the slave or master cylinder of the system is leaking then the loss of pedal is because of the leak, no pressure can be built to release the clutch. That will not require the removal of the Trans, the slave and master cylinder along with the metal and rubber lines are accessible under the car. Once you stop the leak and bleed out all air from the system see how well that pedal works then. At that point you should know if more in dept diagnosis or work in needed.
