Volvo: Intermittently Hard to Start, brain box, volvo c70

Question
Ray -

I have a friend who owns a 2001 Volvo C70 (Turbo).. As of late, she has been having problems starting the vehicle which I am thinking has something to do with the fact the factory alarm has also been sporadically malfunctioning as of late.  Do you know if there is a problem with the CPU for this vehicle or possibly the brain box for the factory alarm?

Answer
Mike,
There maybe some problems with that CPU, but nothing that stands out. The dealer will be the best equipted to test that alarm system and or just replace the control unit.  Also there have been many noted problems with the antenna ring around the ingition switch that works along with the alarm. I would inquire at your dealer for there input.
